Omowale Expressions
Omowale Expression is a fashion house established in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2020 by Felicia L. Jackson.
Felicia moved to Nigeria in 2017. Extremely impressed with the local tailors' skills and craftsmanship and the garments they created, she wanted to share their talent with her American family and friends. She also wanted to create job opportunities for Nigerian citizens and dispel any preconceptions that Nigerians do not produce quality fashion.
Felicia chose the name Omowale Expressions because, in the Yoruba language, Omowale means "The child has come home."
The logo of the bird looking back, collecting the egg, symbolizes the Bono Adinkra Sankofa symbol. In the Twi language of Ghana, Sankofa translates to "go back to the past and bring forward that which is useful."
